Acoustic ceiling tiles to block noise from above?
i have some ceiling where i can afford to drop about 10-15mm, but there are cables above, so the builders are (rightly) unwilling to fix a double layer of plasterboard. are there any products I can get to glue onto the ceiling? problem is mainly bass and footfall.

I’m
confident
I am afraid you cannot reduce bass and footfall noise by just sticking a product on the ceiling as it is a structural noise and needs isolation.
This is the only system that will help reduce it. http://www.keepitquiet.co.uk/studio-c...
Best way to treat it is from above using one of these systems http://www.keepitquiet.co.uk/soundpro... -

thanks - thought that would be the case. I'm afraid I can't afford that much drop, and anyway fixing resilient bars to the ceiling would still be problematic.
thanks though!

I would be very careful with any company that may sell you a stick on solution for this kind of sound. We have been doing this over 40 years and if there was such a great product on the market we would be selling it.
Good luck in your hunt. -
