Hi,
I would like to fit the 2mm soundproof matting onto my wooden lounge floor to decrease the noise from the flat below. Im thinking of then carpetting over the top (currently I have bare wood floors). I was just wondering what happens about fitting the carpet gripper i.e. can it still be nailed to the floor? Thanks

If just our 2mm thick SBM5 Soundproof Matting is to be used then as many layers as possible should be installed to get the best results. Carpet grippers are fitted as normal but if several layers of the mat has been used then longer nails or screws will be required. As you are going to be fitting a carpet far better sound insulation can be achieved if just one layer of SBM5 is installed with our QuietFloor Plus acoustic underlay on top instead of normal carpet underlay. This is our Gold Carpet System and more info on this can be viewed on our web page by clicking the following link
