Help needed with home cinema noise

I have a pretty decent Home cinema setup at home, but with the thin walls the sound escapes too much into other rooms in the flat. I live on the top floor so the ceiling shouldn't need to be fixed and i'm guessing a decent carpet should avoid annoying the neighbours downstairs but 3 walls will almost certainly carry too much of the sound and disturb my neighbours. What is the best way to enjoy the latest films without everyone else hearing them too?

Well there are a few things you can do to help isolate some of the sound without having to soundproof the walls.

We would advise you sit the base speaker on our Anti Vibration Pad or better still on one of our Music Isomats This will reduce some of the vibration from going through the floor.

If you also ensure the other speakers and not connected to the wall this will help with the flanking sound that travels down the walls.

If you do this and feel you need to do more, like soundproof the floors and walls then come back to us.

If you are still unsure about what you are doing or feel you need some more technical advice I suggest you email our technical team tech@soundservice.co.uk or you can call them on 0845 363 7131 (Option 2) from our main menu.
