hinged plugs for Bay of multiple windows ?
working from your plywood and foam plug model, If I have a row of four windows to plug, and am intending to make a wooden frame against which they can e pressed shut...how much compression of the 25 mil foam should I design for...it will compress at the window-side of foam's face, around the edges against a 2x3 frame. so that is 1 3/4 " overlap/compression... I will fix with hinges and hooks...suggestions? better to press right against window glass?

Although the foam will compress, it is not advised. What should be done is to cut the foam so that it is an interference fit within the window frame. For larger windows, hinged panels will make it easier and we welcome your feedback on what you do.
