Hi,
I live in a third floor flat and have a home cinema system in the living room with a subwoofer in the corner, the problem is that the building next door is lower than our building and the wall that the subwoofer is next to backs onto their loft sending the base through their house. Unfortunately as the speaker cables are wired through the walls we cant move the sub to the other side of the flat where there wouldnt be a problem so we are looking for a effective way to stop the neighbors complaining and actually be able to use the sub again.
Any advice on materials etc would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

It is fair to say that it is unlikely you will be able to eliminate the low frequency sound from the speaker being heard by your neighbour because this type of noise is easily transmitted through the fabric of a building as flanking noise.
If it is impossible to extend the wires and relocate the speaker, we suggest it is mounted on one of our Speaker Isolators or for larger speakers, our Music Isomat. More information on these can be viewed by clicking on the following links.

In addition, sound absorption installed onto the walls immediately behind and around where the speaker is sited will help. Our Egg Box Foam is a popular choice for this and inexpensive. The following link will give you more info
