Music room conversion

We are converting our garage into a music room - it is free standing from any neighbour properties, and has one wall adjoining to one of our bedrooms (plus door and chimney in between). I'd like advice on both the insulation and a good acoustic result inside the room -no deadening studio sound but one that can swing freely without getting overly loud or boomy. The instruments used will be grand piano and string instruments mainly.
