party wall sound proofing
hi, we've already started soundproofing with resilient bars+karmaclad board+acoustic plaster board. But the effect hasn't been very effective. What product would you suggest to increase the reduction?

We would suggest you use ALL the products listed here http://www.keepitquiet.co.uk/studio-w...

good morning, Thank you for your reply.
We have already installed the other layers. we wanted to know which of your products could be applied onto the boards to improve the reduction? we were looking at the sound proofing mat?? how much decaibels would this reduce the sound?

Then it sounds like you have installed it wrong I am afraid.
Please follow the instructions given here http://www.keepitquiet.co.uk/studio-w...
The sondproofing Mat is added between the Acoustic Plasterboard layers.
If you haven't installed our system correctly this may explain why the wall is not as soundproof as you had hoped. -

thank you for your reply. it is really really appreicated.
We moved in to our semi, in a very quiet area about a ago. We had no problem with the last neighbours, but now the tenents are so loud that we can here everything. so we started insulating but the improvement hasn't been enough. now the only thing that we can do is add more layers. your advice is greatly needed.
What we wanted know was if we put on the sound proof mat and then another layer of board, would this help? -

There are several factors that can be affecting the efficiency of the sound insulation carried out so far and listed as follows.
1. For best results the Studio Wall System should be installed independently from the separating wall as described in the installation instructions.
2. Short circuiting of the Resilient Bars may have occurred where the screws go through to the stud rendering the bars ineffective.
3. Flanking noise can be coming around the soundproofed wall usually via the floor and ceiling. Click on the following link to view more info on soundproofing a wall http://www.keepitquiet.co.uk/wall_sou... -
