Shutting out noise from noisy students in flat below us
We live in a 1st floor Victorian flat are experiencing noise of loud voices, singing, door banging etc from a group of students in an HMO flat below ours. There is little soundproofing in their flat as it is sanded wooden floors and only basic furnishings in large, high ceilinged rooms. The noise is made worse by badly adjusted door closers which bang loudly and which the landlord has not adjusted despite our complaints. We currrently have polished wooden floors in our bedroom and want to put down carpet to reduce the noice but would like to make sure we take steps to soundproof as well as we can prior to having carpet fitted.

You can help reduce the airborne noise by infilling in the cavity space under your floorboards with our Soundblocker Quilt or our Acoustic Mineral Wool (100mm thickness)
On top of the floor I would suggest our Gold Carpet System http://www.keepitquiet.co.uk/gold-car...
You will find it very hard reducing the door banging sound as this has become structure based. -
