Traffic Noise and Secondary Glazing

Dear Sirs,

I wonder If I could ask for your expertise/guidance with regard to a problem I have in respect of traffic noise from windows.

I have secondary glazing installed and I am looking for a suitable foam/tile to fill the internal gap / void bewteen the between the original window and the inner secondary glazing. i.e to line / adhere the internal walls ceiling and window cill between the original window and secondary glazing unit.

whilst the secondary glazing reduces the high frequency noise from road traffic it seems to emphasise the lower noise vibration frequencies. Hopefully by lining the inside of where the secondary glazing meets the existing window might help to break up and absorb some of the lower noise frequencies. Would the egg box foam tiles be suitable??
Hope I have explained this clearly??
I would appreciate any advice you can offer.

Many thanks for your attention.

The Egg Box foam will work very well but will quickly discolour due to UV. The sound absorbing foam we usually supply for this application is flat and should be covered with fabric or some other perforated surface to allow sound absorption. The foam is self-adhesive and we can offer two thicknesses from stock. 12mm and 25mm available in sheet sizes 1m x 1.5m that can easily be cut to size with a very sharp knife.
